BOYCOTT UTUSAN MELOYA!!

“Teresa Kok’s arrest is a perfect case in point where facts are being mysteriously twisted. The plot here seems to be: construct a scene, plant this scene as real and true in the minds of all Muslims, and use this as a reason to instigate fear and insecurity, thereby justifying the use of the Internal Security Act (ISA).”    –   Tricia Yeoh

Please help to spread the word about this boycott campaign.

This is a call to boycott Utusan Malaysia and all products & services advertised in Utusan Malaysia with immediate effect. Utusan Malaysia is directly responsible for publishing a series of lies, which led to the detention of MP Teresa Kok under the ISA. The boycott is to last for a 6 months period. A review will be taken to determine if the boycott should be extended.

The nationwide Utusan Malaysia Boycott Campaign is on. This boycott is applicable to all publications under the Utusan Malaysia group of companies, with immediate effect. All right-thinking Malaysians are requested to cancel their subscription to Utusan Malaysia & related publications. Utusan has frequently played up communal-based reports and stirred racial and religious sentiments over the years. The voice of lies, deceits & bigotry must be stopped. Utusan would soon be facing a barrage of libel actions from various quarters for its ultra-racist inflammatory articles over the years.

Examples of the daily’s racist stance are as follows:

1. Portrayed veteran parliamentarian Karpal Singh as anti-Islam. In its report under the headlines ‘DAP diingat jangan bakar perasaan Melayu’ (DAP reminded not to stir Malay sentiments) on page two of its Monday edition on Aug 25, Utusan stated that “DAP chairperson Karpal Singh rejects Islam as the official religion of the country”;

2. Utusan’s libelous and seditious reports on Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng alleged statement on the New Economic Policy ;and

3. Umno-owned Utusan triggered religious controversy among Muslims through an article entitled, ‘Azan, jawi, JAIS, UiTM dan ba-alif-ba- ya’ written by senior editor Zaini Hassan resulting in Teresa Kok’s ISA detention.

The pen is mightier than the sword. The newspaper has to be stopped on its track. To begin the campaign, we call for the boycott of all publications under the Utusan Malaysia group. The publications are:
1. HAI
2. HARMONI
3. KAWAN
4. KOSMO
5. MANGGA
6. SAJI
7. SIHAT
8. REMIX
9. UTUSAN MALAYSIA
10. UV

Analisa Utusan Malaysia berat sebelah. BOIKOT UTUSAN MALAYSIA.—Din Merican

When incidents are manipulated to achieve selfish gains — and worse, Malays themselves are hoodwinked into believing these to be real — justice, an essential element in Islam, is lost. – Tricia

Is there anyone who reads it still? Just look at the writings, not to mention very biased, but just the language. I’m as a malay feel embarassed that a national paper can butcher the national language daily without any regards whatsoever. I find it hard to understand some of the things they were trying to say and malay is my mother tongue, so imagine how crappy their writings are. With low quality reporting and writing I’m surprised they are still here in the market. Shish they are disgusting lot!

No point boycotting these idiots. Better to boycott all those who advertise in Utusan Malaysia. Write to all of them and put the nasty articles of Utusan Malaysia alongside mails to these advertisers aand tell them that by advertising in Utusan Malaysia they are agreeing with Utusan Malaysia.

That being the case they are not worthy of peoples’ support and they as the company behind that advertisement shall be boycotted. Their products shall be boycotted and their name shall be associated with racist and false mentality and attitude.

I would like to see companies not advertising in Utusan Malaysia and at the same time Utusan is forced to continue publishing. Now that will kill them faster than anything else a boycott of the paper will do.
